DIY Low Waste Laundry Detergent

Top 10 Wedding desserts

Hello lovelies! Just the other day I posted my laundry hack on my Instagram account and so many people were so happy to give it a go! I’m excited to hear what everyone thinks. I have long used Molly’s Suds. I love their company, the clean ingredients, etc. It was the only detergent I felt safe using but could also use it on my son’s cloth diapers as well as our clothing.

Since going more low waste, I am trying to make more items myself when possible. This allows for less packaging, less shipping because I can make things in larger quantities etc. So I decided to recreate the detergent myself! And it has been so great. It’s super easy to do and I could find almost all items in bulk or in a recyclable packaging etc.

  •  1/2 cup of Espom Salt
  • 1.5 cups of Washing soda
  • 1.5 cups of Baking soda
  • 1/4 cup of sea salt
  • 20 drops of peppermint essential oil (totally optional)

If you would like to support my little blog + family and shop my Amazon links, here they are below! ( I so appreciate each and every purchase!)

There really aren’t any directions because all you need to do is mix the ingredients together in a bowl and then transfer into a jar/jug to hold. I got a large Glass jar with a metal lid + purchased a metal coffee scoop.

The best part? It legit costs 1/4 of the cost to make this compared to purchasing from Molly’s. This breaks down to .04 cents per load whereas I was paying .16 cents per load with Molly’s. Let me know if you try this out and how you like it!

Don’t forget to come join the party over on Instagram for more interaction with me and just a great little sustainable community of love!
